Done with Glenn Beck

I have always been suspicious of Beck. He plays toward libertarian sympathies but never does anything to advance the liberty movement. The whole 9/12 tea party thing is simply to enrich his own popularity and spread his Neocon political philosophy through the back door.

Nothing he has done is more disgusting then this interview today with Debra Medina. Medina even mentioned Beck's 9/12 project in some of the debates. Beck in return was out to slime Medina with charges of conspiracy theorist crazy person - the same charges he leveled against Ron Paul back in 2007. Needless to say I will no longer be watching Mr. Beck's show.

So she declined to comment about a subject she knows nothing about and this means she's a crazy person? Clearly, Beck was just out to win one for the DC establishment to which Medina is such a great threat.

By the way, these are Debra's comments on the interview:

"I was asked a question on the Glenn Beck show today regarding my thoughts on the so-called 9/11 truth movement. I have never been involved with the 9-11 truth movement, and there is no doubt in my mind that Muslim terrorists flew planes into those buildings on 9/11. I have not seen any evidence nor have I ever believed that our government was involved or directed those individuals in any way. No one can deny that the events on 9-11 were a tragedy for all Americans and especially those families who lost loved ones.

The question surprised me because it's not relevant to this race or the issues facing Texans. This campaign has always been about private property rights and state sovereignty. It is focused on the issues facing Texans. It is not a vehicle for the 9-11 truth movement or any other group.

The real underlying question here, though, is whether or not people have the right to question our government. I think the fact that people are even asking questions on this level gets to the incredible distrust career politicians have fostered by so clearly taking their direction from special interests instead of the people, whether it's Rick Perry and the his HPV mandate or Kay Hutchison and voting for the bank bailout. It is absolutely the right and duty of a free people to question their government. Texas does not need another politician who tells you what you want to hear, then violates your liberties and steals your property anyway. I fully expect to be questioned and to be held accountable as Governor, and that's the underlying issue here: should people be questioning their government. And the answer is yes, they should be."

Medina Rising to 24% !

In an amazing turn of events in the Texas Gubernatorial race, Medina now has 24% of the primary vote according to the latest poll! She is only 4% behind Kay Bailey Hutchison and has all the momentum on her side. If she is able to beat Hutchison and Perry remains below 50% (he is at 39% currently), then Medina would force a run-off between herself and Perry.

This is truly amazing for such a strong libertarian and complete political outsider to be competing this strongly. Some may disagree but I believe she is an even stronger liberty candidate than Rand Paul who is currently ahead in the polls in his race for Senate in Kentucky.

Maddow Slams Tea Partiers Opposing Ron Paul

Maddow defends Ron Paul against his three tea party primary challengers. But as Lew Rockwell reports, Paul should have nothing to worry about. His three challengers have a combined $13,281 while Paul has close to $2 million. Regardless, Maddow makes some nice points here about the lack of real philosophical backing to the tea party movement as illustrated by Sarah Palin. What exactly does she stand for? Nobody knows. Especially with the latest tea party convention, it is looking like Republicans are hijacking the movement and directing people's anger toward Democrats rather than toward the real problem, Government.

Jon Stewart vs. O'Reilly

This is an entertaining interview to watch if you're a Daily Show fan like I am. Although Stewart is certainly a "liberal", at least he is a thoughtful one. I think he clearly wins the debate against O'Reilly. He even mentions Ron Paul toward the end.

I do not know if Daniel Muir, DT for the Indianapolis Colts, was trying to make a political statement or if he just has terrific instincts.
