Here is a humorous journal article from the University of Maryland dated 1988. The paper argues that mainstream economic methodology is inappropriate - e.g. farmers do not really solve the complicated differential equations to maximize utility. I do not know if the author leans toward to Austrian school or not, but his argument is well aligned with Austrians who have argued for decades that economic methodology should be based on logical deduction (i.e. praxeology), not empirical observation.
