This incident actually occurred several months ago. A campaign for liberty member was carrying a few thousand dollars from fundraising sales after the St. Louis regional convention. TSA officials harassed him and threatened him with arrest.

Mark Thorton Nails Krugman for Advocating Housing Bubble
Posted by

As a follow up on yesterday's post, Mark Thorton has pulled together many additional quotes from Krugman that indicate his desire to create a housing bubble. Of course Krugman denies all of this but it does not get any more clear that you want a housing bubble when you say, "Alan Greenspan needs to create a housing bubble to replace the Nasdaq bubble."

Krugman's Idiotic Economic Nonsense

In August 2002, New York Times columnist and recent Nobel Prize winner, Paul Krugman, actually endorsed a Fed created housing bubble in order to combat recession.
To fight this recession the Fed needs more than a snapback; it needs soaring household spending to offset moribund business investment. And to do that, as Paul McCulley of Pimco put it, Alan Greenspan needs to create a housing bubble to replace the Nasdaq bubble.
So this is what wins you a Nobel Prize in economics these days? Such is the intellectual bankruptcy of Keynesian economics.

Stagflation For the Next Decade?

Bob Murphy is predicting stagnant economic growth with double-digit inflation over the upcoming years. As always, he provides great analysis of current and future events. In summary of government intrusions into the economy to date, Murphy explains,
Beyond the massive shift of resources to the government, though, are the massive intrusions of federal power into various sectors. The feds have already partially nationalized the banking sector (a process started under that "laissez-faire conservative" George Bush); they have taken over one of the biggest insurers in the world (AIG) and two of the Big Three car companies; and they have taken over Fannie and Freddie and now control more than half of US mortgages. On top of that, they are pushing through a plan to cap carbon-dioxide emissions — which allows the government to control energy markets, and — oh why not? — they are trying to nationalize health care too. Just to make sure investors around the world stay clear of the American economy, the Obama administration has overturned secured-creditor rights in the Chrysler fiasco and has hired 800 new IRS employees to put the screws to wealthy filers with international business operations.

World Temperatures Refute Global Warming Scam
Posted by

As Christopher Booker reports from UK Telegraph, the world is getting colder, not warmer. In reality it would be a blessing if the earth were to undergo a warming period since more land would be available for growing crops. As it currently stands, with temperatures dropping, crop yields are suffering in much of the world:
In Canada and northern America summer planting of corn and soybeans has been way behind schedule, with the prospect of reduced yields and lower quality. Grain stocks are predicted to be down 15 per cent next year. US reserves of soya – used in animal feed and in many processed foods – are expected to fall to a 32-year low.
Despite the mere facts of the matter, our government leaders are focused on lowering world levels of C02 (a.k.a. plant food) out of fear that some polar bears might go extinct. Meanwhile, who cares about the potential of starving thousands of human beings around the world and taxing the economy into an extended depression?
I have reached the conclusion that the entire global warming theory is a huge racket. It is a shame that so many scientists have provided governments with the necessary intellectual backing to propagate such a myth - this is the danger of asking governments to fund science. As a reward, US scientists were given millions in stimulus money to perform climate related research rendering any conclusions in favor of the warming theory as nearly meaningless due to conflict of interest.
What the men behind the curtain really want is a world government with power to very literally tax the air you breathe. That would be their dream and global warming is a convenient theory for them to use in order to try and get their way. Often neglected, they need the court intellectuals at their side to gain public support of their ideas. For those who still support government funded education and research, these are the consequences of entangling force with knowledge. You end up with less knowledge, more deception, and less freedom.
