I'm starting to warm up to the Minnesota Congresswoman. On Glenn Beck today, she told him that she would refuse to fill out the Census despite the threat of a $5000 fine. She pointed out that the survey is not in agreement with our natural and Constitutional right to privacy. She is also a leading supporter of HR 1207 and Thomas Woods has said very nice things about her willingness to seek the truth.
Even hardcore libertarian Karen De Coster has written some supporting words about Bachmann at Lew Rockwell's site.
Bachmann is also articulate and pretty—which is never detrimental to a woman in politics—and comes across as steady and confident. The attribute of hers that gives me hope is her tendency to reveal recurring signs of un-Republican-like behavior. Questioning the constitutionality of the census and making Timothy Geithner stutter like a pickled parrot are just a couple of strong points in her favor.
Additionally, she gave this speech from the House floor on how our government is becoming a bunch of gangsters. Of course government is always and has always been, by definition, a gang of thieves. But we will give her some credit for at least approaching these realizations.
